Hi, I’m Tasha Derzekos

I am an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Certified Athletic Therapist.

After completing a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion at St. Lawrence College and working as a Personal Trainer for a year, I returned to my studies and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy) from Sheridan College. I then successful challenged the national exams in becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist. I am a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association.

Despite working on the field with sports teams early in my Athletic Therapy career (in addition to working in the clinic), I always gravitated towards clinical practice and a manual therapy approach. This landed me at the Canadian College of Osteopathy (CCO) with a keen interest to continue my education, including a deeper dive into anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and the vast interconnections of the body. After completing 5 years of course work, defending my thesis, “The Vagal Complex: A Qualitative Investigation of Osteopathic Practices & Considerations” and graduating from the CCO, I joined the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners and now practice as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, as well.

As an athlete growing up, involved primarily in equestrian and running, as well as being an active individual to this day, I too understand the reality of being inhibited from injuries and restrictions in the body. Using manual therapy, exercise prescription, education and guidance, my goal is to help support clients on their health and wellness journeys and in the pursuit of their goals.
