FAQ

  • What can I expect from my appointments?

An initial assessment (for both Osteopathy & Athletic Therapy appointments) involves a thorough case history and physical assessment, working from global to specific. Often, time allows for some treatment at the first appointment but this depends on the case history and assessment. The more information clients include on their Intake and Health History Form, typically the more likely treatment will commence. Initial appointments also often include exercise prescription and home care recommendations regarding your specific concerns.

Follow-up appointments for both Osteopathy & Athletic Therapy typically involve a check-in, a quick re-assessment, followed by manual therapy, as well as exercise and home care recommendations, as appropriate. 60 minute follow-up appointments are recommended for most clients.

  • How many appointments will I require?

The number of appointments is highly variable based on the individual, their unique case history, as well as the concerns for which they are seeking care. Although this may widely vary based on the individual, for newer symptoms or concerns, sometimes 3-4 appointments are sufficient to achieve progress, whereas with more chronic issues, ongoing care for several months or longer may be required in order to make sufficient progress.

  • How often should I book appointments?

Once again, this depends on ones unique situation. Initially, it may take 4-6 appointments scheduled closer together (~1-2 weeks apart) in order to both measure progress and discern if Osteopathy or Athletic Therapy is the right fit. Once clients are happy with their progress, often they choose to schedule appointments for ongoing care and prevention (this may be once a month for some, or a few times a year for others). Other clients choose to only return when they have a new concern or the reoccurrence of previous symptoms.

  • What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring or wear comfortable clothing to your appointment (e.g., gym attire, stretchy clothing). Additionally, if you have any medical imaging reports regarding your concerns, please bring them with you (e.g., hip x-ray, MRI of back, etc.).

  • What are your rates?

Initial Osteopathy Assessment / Initial Athletic Therapy Assessment: $150

60 Minute Osteopathy Appointment / 60 Minute Athletic Therapy Appointment: $130

30 Minute Osteopathy Appointment / 30 Minute Athletic Therapy Appointment: $85

Please note: All rates include HST; the accepted methods of payment include cash, cheque and e-transfer.

  • Do you do direct billing to insurance companies?

No, we do not do direct billing to insurance companies on behalf of clients. Following payment, a receipt for the service provided (Osteopathy or Athletic Therapy) is given to clients which may be submitted by the client to their insurance provider for reimbursement, should they have coverage.
